The Pheasant Lodge is a spacious self-catering apartment on the ground floor of a Georgian house in Field Broughton, two miles from Cartmel. With garden views from every room, period features and a log burner, it’s a welcoming base for exploring the South Lakes with family or friends.
There’s room for up to six guests across two bedrooms and a sofa bed in the lounge. The master bedroom has a superking bed, while the second bedroom can be arranged as twins or a superking. A separate dining room seats six, and the well-equipped kitchen has a garden-view sitting nook for company while you cook.
Spend your days walking, exploring nearby villages or enjoying Cartmel’s restaurants, then come back to dry your outdoor clothes, put the kettle on and settle beside the fire. There are books, board games, Sky and Netflix for evenings in, plus three private garden areas for brighter days.
Parking for three cars is beside the front door. The accommodation is all on the ground floor, with two internal single steps, one into the kitchen area and one down into the bathroom. We don’t accept pets.

The Rooms
The Master Bedroom
A spacious bedroom with a superking bed, high ceilings and original Georgian features, including a fireplace and beautiful arch. There’s a seating area for reading or morning coffee, with views over the gardens.
Twin/Superking Bedroom
Choose twin beds or a superking, with Emma mattresses for a comfortable night’s sleep. Enjoy high ceilings, Georgian features and views towards Hampsfell and the gardens. This room suits children, friends or couples.
The Lounge
Settle into the deep sofas beside the log burner after a day exploring the Lake District. With garden views, comfortable seating for six and a 60-inch TV with Sky and Netflix, there’s plenty to enjoy on evenings in. The sofa bed provides sleeping space for two guests.
The Dining Room
Gather around the table for six, whether it’s a leisurely breakfast or dinner with family and friends. Original parquet flooring and soft lighting make this a lovely room for evenings together. The kitchen is close by, and the games cupboard is ready for after dinner.
The Kitchen
A well-equipped kitchen with an oven, hob, grill and microwave, plus cookware for meals at home. The garden-view sitting nook gives someone a comfortable spot to keep the cook company, whether you’re making breakfast or preparing dinner.
The Boot room
A practical space for muddy boots and outdoor clothes after a day exploring. There’s a washing machine, electric drying rack, iron and ironing board to help you get ready for tomorrow’s adventures, plus a separate WC nearby.
The Bathroom
Enjoy a long soak in the bath after a day on the fells, or freshen up under the electric shower before dinner in Cartmel. The bathroom is reached by one step down, with a separate WC also available elsewhere in the apartment.
The Outside Area
Three private garden areas give you space for morning coffee, outdoor meals and quiet afternoons. Enjoy the picnic table, apple tree and wilder back garden, with private parking for three cars conveniently beside the front door.
