Peaceful private gardens near Cartmel
The Pheasant Lodge gardens give you space to relax outdoors at our holiday home in Field Broughton, two miles from Cartmel. Guests have exclusive use of three garden areas, with lawns, mature trees and flower beds that change with the seasons.
Whether you’re enjoying breakfast outside, spending time with the children or sitting down with a drink after exploring the Lake District, there’s room to make the outdoors part of your stay.

The front garden is bordered by hedges and catches the afternoon and evening sun, making it a lovely spot to unwind after a day out.
The side lawn runs along the house, with space for children to play and views across the Cartmel Valley.
At the back of the house, the walled garden offers a more secluded setting for morning coffee or outdoor dining. A picnic table and seating are provided, and this wilder part of the garden includes an apple tree.
Your private outdoor spaces
All three garden areas are for your use during your stay. The house sits within wider grounds, so please keep to the designated guest gardens to respect our neighbours’ privacy.
If you’re visiting with young children, please supervise them outdoors. Private use of the gardens does not mean they are fully enclosed.
Parking by the front door
The Pheasant Lodge is set back from the road at the end of a long driveway. There are three designated parking spaces by the sundial, close to the front door, making it easy to unload luggage, shopping and outdoor equipment.
