The story of The Pheasant Lodge
The Pheasant Lodge is our self-catering holiday home in Field Broughton, two miles from Cartmel in the South Lake District. Set within a historic country house, it’s a place to enjoy peaceful garden views, explore the Lakes and spend time together.
We began refurbishing the lodge in 2021, completing the work in 2022. We wanted to preserve its character while creating a welcoming, comfortable home for our family and guests. High ceilings, large windows and original features sit alongside comfortable beds, deep sofas and a well-equipped kitchen.
The lodge sleeps up to six guests in two bedrooms, with a sofa bed in the lounge. All accommodation is on the ground floor, with two internal steps. Outside, three garden areas give you space to sit with a coffee, eat outdoors or enjoy the greenery.

Meet your host, Hannah
I’m Hannah, and my family and I look after The Pheasant Lodge. Having spent many family holidays in the Lake District, and with family living nearby, it’s an area that means a lot to us.
We love getting outdoors, discovering walks and swimming spots, and finding somewhere good to eat afterwards. Sharing those favourites with guests is one of the things I enjoy most about hosting, whether you’re visiting the Lakes for the first time or returning to a place you already love.
