The story of Pheasant Lodge

Nestled in the Cartmel Valley of the Lake District, Pheasant Lodge is a luxury, self-catering holiday home that sleeps up to six guests. Located just two miles from Cartmel village and four miles from the shores of Lake Windermere, it’s beautifully positioned for both tranquillity and exploration.

A home restored with care
Originally part of a Georgian mansion dating to 1710, with later additions around 1870, Pheasant Lodge was fully refurbished to combine period charm with modern comfort. You’ll discover high ceilings, large windows, and fireplaces alongside contemporary touches throughout. The lodge offers stunning views over its private gardens and across the Cartmel Valley to Hampsfell. All rooms look out on lush greenery.

Inside, there are two generous bedrooms, a modern bathroom plus separate WC, a cosy lounge with a log-burning fire, a dining room, and a well-equipped kitchen. The layout is almost entirely ground-floor, with only two small steps inside. New electric radiators have been installed throughout to ensure comfort in all seasons.

I’m Hannah Isichei. My family and I began refurbishing Pheasant Lodge in 2021, drawn to its character and potential. Our aim has always been to retain the charm of the Georgian and Victorian era while making it a warm, comfortable place to stay today.
