We’ve shared The Pheasant Lodge accessibility details below, covering parking, doorways and the layout to help you plan your stay.The Pheasant Lodge is a spacious, ground-floor holiday home in Field Broughton, near Cartmel in the Lake District. We want you to feel confident planning your stay, so we’ve shared details about parking, doorways and the layout below. There are two single steps inside and a shower over the bath. Parking and entrance
You can park just a metre or so from the front door, with space for up to three cars on the driveway. The entrance is flat with no steps (as shown), and the front doorway is approximately 90cm wide.
The driveway has a gravel surface, which may be harder to move across with a wheelchair or mobility aid. The photo alongside shows the parking area and approach to the front door.
The Pheasant Lodge accessibility: inside the house
The lounge and both bedrooms are on the same level as the entrance. These rooms are spacious, and the doorways in the front part of the house are approximately 90cm wide.
There are two single steps inside: one step down into the bathroom and one step up into the kitchen area. This means the property isn’t completely step-free throughout.

Bedrooms and Bathrooms
Both bedrooms are spacious. The main bedroom has a superking bed, while the second can be arranged with two single beds or a superking. If you need to check the space beside a bed or its height, we’re happy to provide measurements.
There is one step down into the bathroom, which has a bath with a shower over it, a basin and a toilet. To use the shower, you need to step over the side of the bath. The bathroom is not adapted and does not have a walk-in shower currently but that is something we are looking at for 2027.
Comfort during your stay
The Pheasant Lodge has central heating throughout, with additional portable heaters available if you’d like extra warmth. The lounge also has a log burner for cosy evenings.
There’s a mix of ceiling lights and lamps, so you can choose the lighting that feels comfortable for you. If moving a piece of furniture would help you get around, please speak to us before your stay so we can discuss what’s possible.
