Festive Candle Making – Windermere Jetty Museum

Festive candle making – Saturday 13 December 2025. It seems like this ought to be the perfect way to prepare for Christmas and create something really useful and relaxing. Sign me up.

I like the idea of using and blending essential oils to create Christmas gifts . Candles glowing, on winter nights especially, help me unwind. And taking time out for virtually a whole day before Christmas seems a suitably self-indulgent self care. It’s one of those festive Lake District experiences that will feel special even in bad weather.

What do you think? If you know this is for you, tickets £65 person, are available from Pure Lakes.

Christmas Pudding 10K run – Great Langdale

Christmas Pudding 10K Run Great Langdale A good way to start feeling festive? A real challenge. What do you think? It sounds a tremendous idea. The scenery should distract from the effort and exertion. Not sure if I am ready for this yet as 5K has been my limit so far but I know some of you out there will love this (my daughter for one).

If you want something away from the big crowds, this is exactly the kind of festive Lake District experience people remember.

Saturday 13 December is the date for this event. Find out more at Christmas Pudding 10K – Brathay Challenges

Owning up time. I love all these events/workshops but know I would have to pick just one as December already looks busy. Which one will you pick? Make the time for yourself. Hoping you find something to see you through all the busy-ness.

If you’re planning festive Lake District experiences this winter, The Pheasant Lodge is the perfect base – cosy, spacious and close to so many hidden gems.
